Position Summary:
A Veterinarian at Mosaic Animal Health Center is responsible for:
- Diagnosing and treating a variety of conditions and diseases.
- Performing routine medical procedures, like wellness checks and vaccinations.
- Performing routine surgeries, including spay, neuter, dental cleanings, and extractions.
- Providing support and guidance to pet owners, including nutritional directives, exercise needs, and more.
- Supporting the growth and development of veterinary technicians and assistants.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a veterinary license to practice in the state of New Jersey and will have 2-4 years of veterinary practice experience. They should be highly skilled in assessing the overall health of pets and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment is also essential.
Key Position Responsibilities:
- Providing medical care and treatment to patients, including routine check-ups, vaccinations, and surgeries.
- Diagnosing and treating medical conditions that commonly affect dogs and cats.
- Providing guidance and support to pet owners on how to properly care for their dogs and cats, including advice on nutrition, exercise, and overall pet health and wellbeing.
- Performing routine medical procedures including spaying and neutering, as well as more complex surgeries.
- Maintaining accurate and detailed medical records for all dogs and cats in their care.
- Communicating with other healthcare professionals in service of whole-health outcomes for patients.
- Staying up to date on the latest developments in veterinary medicine specific to the care of dogs and cats.
- Complying with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines related to veterinary medicine.
- Practice fear-free techniques for patient interactions.
- Oversee prescription fulfillment and owner communication regarding medications.

Qualifications:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree or equivalent from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
- Active licensure as a veterinarian without contingencies in the state of New Jersey.
- Current DEA license.
- Current Controlled Substance License, if applicable, in New Jersey (or the ability to obtain it prior to start date).
- Must be comfortable performing anesthesia and routine surgeries, including but not limited to: canine and feline spays, neuters, mass removals, and dentals.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to maintain a professional attitude and demeanor during emotional and stressful situations.
- Must have proficient computer skills.
- Must have a good phone presence.
- Must be a team player who is willing to learn new techniques and treatments, offer creative ideas, and accept change.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
