WHO WE ARE: Altered Tails Barnhart Clinic is the largest nonprofit spay/neuter organization in Arizona. We perform over 20,000 surgeries per year across two clinics, helping community pets, rescue organizations, and outdoor cat colonies. We enjoy four-day work weeks and great benefits! As a veterinarian at Altered Tails, you will help lead a team of highly specialized technicians as we serve the surrounding community. You will work closely with another veterinarian and be responsible for the daily care and sterilization of all surgical patients. As well, you will help maintain and improve preventative health programs and medical protocols. Quality patient care is always first and foremost!

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Exemplary patient care is paramount!
Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from an accredited school - new grads welcome
Hold a veterinary license in the state of Arizona or be able to obtain one within 30 days from hire
Enthusiasm for surgery and for helping the community
Willingness to help supervise handling and recording of controlled substances
Communication with clients as needed to ensure the best possible outcomes for their pets
Ability to perform efficient pre-surgical exams
Ability to perform high volume spay/neuter surgery OR willingness to learn HQHVSN techniques
Training available for the right candidate
Proficiency in computer applications, including Clinic HQ, email, and Microsoft Office suite

Our surgeons are experienced specialists and through our three clinics, sterilized almost 23,000 dogs and cats in 2017. Since 2003, more than 200,000 dogs and cats have benefited from our services.
