Why work at Curry Ford:
* Curry Ford is all about empowering our staff and we ensure we provide the support and time to develop these skills to be put into practice with regular weekly huddles that are staff led as well as monthly meetings and training. * At Curry Ford we want to support our staff through continuous teaching and learning - both formally through regular lunch and learns and informally with our Associates. And we are so proud to see the fruits of our labors: one of our previous veterinary technicians is currently a freshman at Cornell Veterinary School and a second of our veterinary technicians just received an interview for UF veterinary school! We are so gratified to be able to foster our industry's future leaders! * At Curry Ford, we love to celebrate individual accomplishments! We flaunt it too - we keep a kudos board front and center in our treatment area and encourage everyone to participate - every staff meeting a random person is recognized from the kudos board for their accomplishment (and given a killer prize, too)! * Curry Ford is not afraid of change. In fact, we embrace it. Veterinary medicine is constantly evolving, and as such, we want our Associates to have an insatiable appetite for learning new cunning edge practice. As part of the larger UVC family, we provide the network and support necessary to explore valuable new information through a dedicated learning and development department. * At Curry Ford, we pride ourselves on practicing evidence-based medicine. We expect our Associates to participate in lively debate during our routine doctor meetings and rounds on everything from new ways on monitoring Cushenoid patients to current recommendations on fear free techniques. We will often make hospital wide updates based on the results of these discussions. * Curry Ford is continually investing in it's future in order to better serve our patient community. This past year we acquired a new state of the art midmark dental radiograph unit and software, a complete overhaul of our surgery and anesthesia suite, as well as a few additional ancillary toys (eg Suntec blood pressure monitor, IDEXX ECG system and more!). If there is a tool you need, we will take the steps needed to ensure you can practice to the best of your ability! * We want our hospital to feel like home to both our patients and our staff. That is why we are investing in a full hospital renovation complete with individual dental and surgery suites, a spacious and quiet doctors' office and a large break room and gathering space complete with a kitchenette and rounding table and large flat screen TV for doctor rounds, lunch and learns, and staff meetings. But don't worry - we are expanding in a phased development plan so that construction will NEVER interfere with workflow. * We want to see our staff continue to grow in our field and achieve their goals. That is why we meet regularly with each staff member to discuss their ultimate goals and sense of fulfillment with their work. We are even sending one of our technicians to Purdue University's Veterinary Technician program!
