Job description

Do you want to build surgical skill or simply wants to focus on preventative care medicine. Whether you are a new grad looking to develop your surgical skills and client communication; or a seasoned Veterinarian wanting to streamline your practice towards a more focus preventative care; or anything in between The Spay-Neuter Assistance Program and wellness clinic (SNAP) can be the place for you!
SNAP is a high volume, quality and safety spay/neuter clinic and wellness clinic that has been serving the Houston area for over 25 years. We focus on spay/neuter, preventative care, and community education. We refer sick pets to full srvice veterinary clinics so that we can focus on prevention. Our goal is to reduce overpopulation and burden on shelters in order to reduce shelter euthanasia rates.
We have two clinics in the Houston area, one inside the 610 loop near the Heights, and another in Pasadena. We also have a clinic in San Antonio.
Our internal working focus is on a positive workplace, collaboration, and veterinarian-driven medicinewith technician/driven support! We train our teams to be effective at the skills they are legally allowed to do. Freeing up the Veterinarian, for the most part; to do Veterinarian work. We callaborate with our Veterinarians on patient safety protocols as needed, we utilize computarized record keeping and schedule by appointments. Our Vets spend only minimal time on record keeping.
Schedules are Monday – Friday with a mix of surgery days and wellness days to keep your brain and body fresh and away from the repetitive routine struggle. We can also accomodate surgery only or wellness only interests if needed. We are closed all major Holidays. We value mental health strengh and work - life balance for our Veterinarians and team alike.
SNAP is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization, and as such does qualify for most service-based loan forgiveness programs. “Did you know that PLSF, administered by the U.S. government, forgives the remaining debt on eligible loans for borrowers who have worked at least 10 years in the non profit sector such as SNAP?” We are actively seeking veterinarians, both with and without surgical experience, who possess or can obtain a Texas veterinary license. Training is provided for those with little or no surgical experience. Qualified candidates should be interested in learning and leading. Full time and part time positions are available, and compensation is competitive. A good fit for us is someone whose mission and vision matches our own; surgical proficiency and efficiency can almost always be obtained with practice!

We are proud to serve the general public as well as various municipal shelters and private rescue groups. SNAP is proud to be a part of several community-collaborative teams, as we believe that no group can successfully combat overpo...pulation alone.
