Full-Time Veterinarian
This position requires a New Jersey licensed DVM (or ability to obtain licensure quickly) with 3-5 years of experience, prior experience in oversight of anesthesia and anesthesia protocols, preferably some exposure to oncology or the desire to develop more knowledge in treating cancer for pets. The hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 am – 5:30 pm. You do not need prior oncology experience for this job, you will work closely with our Radiation Oncologist.
The primary role of the veterinarian is to oversee all clinical care within the department, act as PetCure Oncology’s lead Veterinarian within the practice, however, this is in collaboration and at the direction of the PetCure Radiation Oncology and Medical Oncology specialists.
This is not a production position, guarantee base salary role.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Providing the highest level of care and service to pet families and referring veterinarians.
- Providing oversight, guidance and leadership for all members of the on-site clinical team.
- Oversight of all consults, treatment plans, treatments and follow-up care for on-site patients.
- Providing clinical support and coordinating care with all members of the referring DVM community, including both internal and external clinicians.
- Overseeing anesthesia and understanding of proper protocols.
- Strict adherence to the clinical protocols established by the SAB as well as company-wide quality assurance standards.
- A commitment to furthering the science of veterinary radiation therapy through data, research, treatment and collaboration.
- Promotion of PetCure Oncology ideals and principles, which emphasize clinical research, exceptional service, a commitment to transparency, and industry-leading cancer care.
Physical requirements & Working Conditions
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, and move) up to 50 pounds. Lifting higher weights requires requesting assistance from another associate.
- Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp, and
- visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate necessary equipment.
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and to solve problems involving several variables.
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and computer work.
- Occasionally exposed to airborne particles and illness from patients and chemicals related to animal care and office equipment.
- The noise level in the work environment is normally moderate.
- Environment where pets are present.
