Rangiora Equine Services www.rangioraequine.co.nz is a privately-owned equine practice located in the Canterbury Plains. We are looking for a confident highly motivated and experienced veterinarian to join our team at Rangiora Equine Services, to as one of our vets is leaving to go to the broodmare paddock.

We are situated close to many major standardbred racing stables, and are uniquely located on a property alongside a racing stable and stud farm. The laid back client base is a broad mixture of racing (both thoroughbred and harness), breeding work (including fresh and frozen AI), sporthorses (dressage, eventing, showjumping, polo), pleasure horses and even the occasional donkey.

The workload is extremely varied, ranging from reproduction, to lameness workups, to geldings and vaccinations.

The equine clinic is well-staffed and equipped including wireless digital radiography, digital ultrasonography, in house laboratory, IRAP, video-endoscopy, ECG, power dental equipment.

Rangiora Equine Services is located in the North Canterbury region, 30 minutes north of Christchurch, with easy access to amazing coastlines, wineries, snow-covered mountains for skiing, year-round adventuring, and incredible hiking in the Southern Alps, and easy driving distance to Queenstown.

The role will be ambulatory equine work Monday to Friday, one night per week and 1 in 3 weekends on call. A late model 4WD practice vehicle and cell phone will be provided.

Suitable applicants should be motivated, and have a sense of humour and adventure. The applicant should be able to carry out most procedures confidently without supervision, ideally with a minimum of 2 years clinical experience, and the more experience the better. Professional development is encouraged, and provided for.
