This one week on, one week off schedule includes zero on-call or emergency hours, totaling 156 workdays each year.
Established in the 1950’s, Long Drive Dog & Cat Hospital was one of the first practices in the Houston, Texas area. We have expanded since then from a humble 1.5-doctor clinic to a fast-paced, walk-in only hospital with six fantastic veterinarians. Although we see more patients than we did in the 50’s, our commitment has remained the same: our clients and their beloved, furry family members always come first.
As we grew throughout the years, our facility did too! We are proud of our newly constructed hospital – finished in 2010 with 5,400 square feet. We have an enlarged surgery suite, expanded dentistry area, dedicated x-ray room, and a variety of in-house Idexx equipment with results tied to our Cornerstone software with EMR. Not to mention, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, and ultrasound to provide the highest-quality care.
We are seeking an Associate Veterinarian to deliver medical, surgical, and dental care to patients. The individual plays a key role in building client relationships and maintaining a positive work environment. The ideal candidate would be enthusiastic, motivated, and excited to join a bustling hospital! Although all procedures are scheduled, exams are walk-in only.
A position with us will include a generous compensation package, comprehensive benefits, and a unique schedule ideal for maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
$80,000 guaranteed base salary with the opportunity to earn commission
Medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, and life insurance
Paid time off for both personal use and to attend continuing education
Annual continuing education allowance
401(k) retirement plan with employer match
Reimbursement of state licensure and DEA fees and professional membership dues
About Long Drive Dog & Cat Hospital
Blue River PetCare's mission is to provide a long-term home for local practices that selling owners have worked so hard to build. We are dedicated to retaining the culture of each of our hospitals in addition to the local practice of medicine. We do this by ensuring each hospital has complete medical autonomy with their choice of protocols, therapies, inventory items, vendors and even management software. We also focus on our employees’ health and well-being as much as we do the pets we treat. We would love to hear from you!
