Description
We are looking for a board-certified Large Animal Surgeon or an individual who has completed residency training to join our growing team!
Quakertown Veterinary Clinic is a full-service, AAHA-accredited, 24/7 hospital with a dedicated large animal team and a strong equine client base. We’re looking for a Large Animal Surgeon who enjoys a balance of equine surgical cases and lameness/ambulatory work — someone eager to help grow our caseload, deepen relationships with referring veterinarians, and build a service they can truly make their own. Our growing, busy 24/7 emergency, general and specialty practice employs small animal, large animal, exotic, and veterinary specialists in surgery, cardiology, dermatology, behavior medicine and ophthalmology. This large group of professionals have autonomy and are encouraged to hone their skills in their individual areas of interest including emergency/urgent care, general practice, surgery, dental care, ultrasound, rhinoscopy, endoscopy, oncology and theriogenology. Together we strive to provide comprehensive care to our patients/clients and also serve as an invaluable resource to each other. We work collaboratively and encourage it!
Here's a snapshot of what you would see working with us:
- Common surgeries: umbilical hernia, cryptorchid, tendon, wounds/lacerations, colic, angular limb deformity, ocular/penile SCC, sinus trephinations, molar extractions, small ruminant surgeries
- Committed Clients: Our Bucks County clients are committed to providing top-quality care and are willing to invest in advanced treatment.
- Facilities: 10 stall hospital barn, large animal surgery suite + table, scope, positive-pressure ventilation, CT coming soon + a team ready to support you.
- Diversity: Our large animal team cares for a diverse equine population. From hunter/jumper and dressage athletes to rodeo competitors and pleasure horses + the occasional small ruminant or exotic hoofstock.
- Ambulatory Opportunities: lameness exams, field surgeries and routine large animal care in a region with a vibrant mix of hunter/jumper, dressage, rodeo and pleasure horses.
