Glencoe Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced, full-time Associate Veterinarian to join our dedicated 3-doctor team.
As a well-established small animal hospital, we’ve proudly served the North Shore community for over 65 years, offering exceptional medical and surgical care six days a week. Our commitment to quality and compassion has made us a trusted partner in pet health.

Our state-of-the-art surgical suite features a heated surgical table and comprehensive anesthetic monitoring. Doctors perform a range of soft tissue procedures and dentistry using top-tier equipment. All anesthetic patients receive pre-operative lab work, IV catheter placement, and IV fluids. For enhanced recovery and therapeutic benefits, we also offer cold laser therapy.

At the heart of our practice is an empowered, highly skilled support staff. Some team members have been with us for over two decades, contributing expertise in radiography, IV catheter placement, anesthetic monitoring, and medication administration. Our technicians work alongside doctors to provide seamless, high-quality care. Our practice manager ensures daily operations run smoothly.

Requirements
Veterinarian – Key Responsibilities
Conduct thorough physical examinations and diagnostic assessments to identify illness, injury, or behavioral concerns in companion animals.
Utilize and interpret results from diagnostic tools including radiology, ultrasound, laboratory testing, and other advanced modalities.
Develop and communicate individualized treatment plans, offering guidance on preventive care, nutrition, and wellness strategies.
Perform surgical procedures ranging from routine spays/neuters to more complex soft tissue interventions.
Administer and prescribe medications, ensuring accurate dosage and client understanding.
Provide compassionate support and clear communication during end-of-life care, including euthanasia.
Maintain detailed and accurate medical records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
Uphold veterinary ethics and ensure adherence to all relevant federal, state, and hospital policies and procedures.
Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to deliver seamless patient care and optimize workflow.
Participate in continuing education and stay current with advancements in veterinary medicine and technology.
Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture through professional conduct and teamwork.
Qualifications & Requirements
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree.
Active and unrestricted state veterinary license.
Eligibility to obtain DEA for controlled substances.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex medical concepts clearly to clients and team members.
Demonstrated professionalism, empathy, and courtesy in all client and team interactions.
Physical ability to lift and carry animals and equipment up to 25 pounds independently, and over 25 pounds with assistance.
Proficiency in electronic medical records systems and basic office software.
Commitment to continuous learning, quality improvement, and collaborative problem-solving.
Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining attention to detail.
